Basic Bonsai for Beginners

A "make your own" class. Learn how to
create and care for a 6" bonsai tree of your choice that will be best
suited for your location. Choose from a mixture of tropical or hardy
trees and pots. The first part of the class will deal with care and
maintenance of the tree chosen, the second part will be potting up and
initial shaping. You will leave with a newly created bonsia tree, the
knowledge to care for it correctly, a specific care sheet and a copy of
the 70 page book, Essential Tips on Bonsai. Pot, tree, wire,
soil, mesh and book included. Class size limited to 8 people. $40
Intermediate Bonsai Procedures

So you've got a tree or two, but
really want to learn the details of improving your bonsai. Maybe you
have ideas on how your tree should look eventually, but don't know the
best way to get it there. The emphasis is on more advanced care,
techniques, and training. Bring in a tree or select one of ours
beforehand. This is a customized class aimed at those who have mastered
the basics. Learn how to improve your tree's appearance. Limited to 6
people. Materials not included. $30.
Pruning, Trimming & Styling

These three things are what makes a
tree stand out as a bonsai. Bring in a tree that is in need of a
haircut or practice on one of ours. Learn the Hows and Whys of shaping
a bonsai into a traditional style that best suits the tree. Some basic
wiring will be adressed, too. Extra emphasis on style and overcoming
the fear of pruning. Limited to 4 people. Materials not included. $30.
